Prediction of The Future....

I'm going to subscribe to Forbes Magazine because I just went to clean up my dead uncle's home and I was flipping through his piles of Forbes magazines and found out that the magazine may be able to predict the future. I read an article published in May 2002, which reported the troubles with AT&T Wireless Services Inc. (It was a spin off of the original AT&T, and was trading on the New York Stock Exchange as AWE at the time.) The article predicted that the company was not going to survive for long and would soon end up being acquired because it was overloaded with debt and was lacking behind in service capacity and wireless infrastructure. Sure enough, the company was acquired by Cingular Wireless in October 2004, more than 2 years after the article was published. Cingular Wireless' parent Company Bell South then acquired the original AT&T and formed the current new AT&T in 2005..... I found the article quite interesting and as a retrospect, quite accurate in its prediction and analysis (even though the Executive Vice President Adele Ambrose wrote the magazine in the June 2002 issue to try to discredit the article...)

I Just Bought This Book For My Upcoming San Diego Vacation

I just bought this book from Borders.com for a total price of $9.25 (that includes sales tax and shipping). Compared to $10.45 at Amazon.com, I save $1.2 for this book. As a Borders club member, shipping is free for me even I only bought one single book. However, in Amazon.com, shipping is only free for purchase of $25 or more. I used the 33% off discount coupon for this book I posted here yesterday also to get this $9.25 bargain total price (they sent out these coupons regular to both paid and no-paid club members). In additional, this $9.25 purchase also earned me borders bucks that I can use on future book purchase.

I really don't want Borders to completely go out of business, cause if they do, where will I be getting bargain books like this anymore?

Book Review: Gone With a Handsomer Man

When I received this book, I was skeptical because I'm not into bubbly and cheesy romance fictions. However, I had the wrong first impression about this book. After I read the first couple pages, I was hooked. I was laughing all by myself in my neighborhood cafe while I was reading the first chapter during breakfast. Other patrons were looking at me with concerns. (I hope I didn't look like I was high on drugs.) Anyway, this book is, as of today, the funniest novel I had read in my life. The story is not just funny, it also has brilliant plots as a mystery and thriller. It's amazing how this book can have romance and suspense weaved with so much humor. The heroine is just too adorable and fun. Even the murderer is very lovable and hilarious with a lot of wits and quirkiness. This novel is a very entertaining page turner that gave me a lot of laugh and happiness while I was reading it. The ending of the story is surprisingly fun also. I was caught off guard by the shockingly twisted very end of the book. The author really out-smarted me with a funny finale that I didn't expect was coming. I think this book has the potential of becoming a hit TV series just like "Sex in the City" but with a totally different story and different heroine.
